The much hyped and often misinterpreted General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) became enforceable on May 25th 2018. It was further embedded into UK legislation with the Data Protection Act 2018. The requirements of the GDPR are detailed, often complicated and the regulation is not an easy document to understand. In the UK it needs to be read in conjunction with the Data Protection Act 2018 (the DPA 2018) and the DPA 2018 is even more difficult to navigate and understand.
Add to this some other more specialist regulations such as the Privacy & Electronic Communication Regulation (PECR) and other industry specific laws and requirements, and it can become extremely complex, very quickly.
At Andrew Brenton we understand the legal language of data protection and we help you to make sense of how it applies to your business. We also help you to incorporate data protection into your workflows, policies and culture.
